A Nashvillian by the name of John Rains originally developed the majority of what is now the Wedgewood-Houston neighborhood, and he had a daughter named Sally, for whom he built the Merritt Mansion on Humphreys Street. Sally’s Stay Awhile is named in her honor! Why the horse in our logo? Because Wedgewood Avenue was named after a championship racehorse in 1891, and we are opening in the year of the horse!
